Late Spring

Apply C-I-L® GOLFGREEN™ Lawn Fertilizer two months after the early spring application. Your lawn needs this feeding to provide a balanced diet, which strengthens it for hot summer weather.

But, if weeds are a problem… This Is The Time To Stop Them!

Weeds

Weeds are plants that grow where they are not wanted. Weed seeds are dispersed in many ways; by wind, animals, humans and lawn equipment. If untreated, weeds will spread and fight the grass for space, food and light, resulting in thinner turf. Weeds will thrive in any condition and can overtake a lawn under stress (underwatered, underfed, soil compaction, too much shade, insect infestation, poor drainage).

For best results, weed control products should be applied at temperatures between 15°C and 25°C when weeds are actively growing. Avoid applying during excessively dry or hot periods.

Late spring or early fall are ideal times to control weeds when they are actively growing.

C-I-L® GOLFGREEN™ Lawn Fertilizer with Weed Control is a premium quality lawn fertilizer with weed control. It controls all common lawn weeds including dandelions, plantain, clover, chickweed, and creeping charlie.

Safety Tips:

  • Do NOT apply by hand.
  • Always use a fertilizer spreader.
  • Keep children and pets off treated area for 24 hours.

Timing of Application:

May to Mid-June when weeds are actively growing.

  • Read directions on bag
  • Apply after watering or when grass is wet with morning dew
  • Do not water for 24 to 48 hours after applying
  • Do not mow for 3 - 4 days
  • Do not apply product if air temperature is below 15°C or above 27°C

Helpful Hints

Spread in the morning if possible to take advantage of the dew on the lawn, or give your lawn a light watering before applying. Apply at half the recommended rate, but make 2 passes over the same area in a crisscross spread pattern to ensure complete coverage. Apply when at least 2 days of clear weather has been forecast. Grass should not be watered or mowed for 48 hours following application.

Dandelion: The dandelion is a perennial weed that will sprout every year from the same tap root. Easily identified by the yellow flowers that bloom in mid-spring.

Plaitain: This perennial weed grows in almost all types of soil. It grows quickly and suffocates surrounding grass.

Creeping Charlie: One of the most difficult weeds to eliminate. It spreads rapidly and requires Lawn WeedOut™ to eliminate it. Creeping Charlie often requires 2 treatments for complete control.
