Early Spring

C-I-L® GOLFGREEN™

Start your Healthy Lawn Program with a feeding of C-I-L® GOLFGREEN™ Lawn Fertilizer. Before applying your spring fertilizer follow these steps to ensure a great looking lawn:

  • Rake off any winter debris
  • Dethatch and aerate lawn if necessary
  • Roll “winter bumps” with roller
  • Reseed damaged patches (EXCEPT when using crabgrass control)

Crabgrass

But if crabgrass is a problem… Use C-I-L® GOLFGREEN™ Lawn Fertilizer With Crabgrass Control instead. For pre-emergent crabgrass control in established lawns, apply in early spring (this is usually before the forsythia blooms), before crabgrass emerges. For early postemergent crabgrass control in established lawns, apply when the crabgrass is in the 1 to 3-leaf stage (up until early June).

Note - Do not apply lawn seed for 12 weeks. Do not rake after applying. No need to water in.

The best way to break the crabgrass cycle is to prevent the germination of crabgrass seeds and to kill young crabgrass plants by using C-I-L® GOLFGREEN™ Lawn Fertilizer With Crabgrass Control.

Crabgrass is an annual weed that reproduces from seed. The stems lie close to the ground, making it difficult to cut with a lawn mower. In sunny areas, crabgrass grows into unsightly, dense patches that can smother grass. This weed becomes more obvious in the summer as it turns purple.

You get the most reliable crabgrass control with DIMENSION® Turf Herbicide:

  • Crabgrass control for up to 3 months
  • 10 week application window – the longest available
  • Fast-acting control. DIMENSION® Turf Herbicide enters through crowns, shoots and roots - NO NEED TO WATER IN!

Due to its low application rates and low leaching potential, DIMENSION® Turf Herbicide is tough on crabgrass, but gentle on the environment.
